Canes in College:
Former Cane Jason Boulais (2009-2011) picked up his first pitching college win over Penn University. Congratulations Jason and keep up the good work!
Ryan Kennedy (2011, Wake Tech CC) CCC's 1B dominated in his first college action. Ryan collected 8 RBI's and hit his first college HR to LF. Ryan led Wake Tech CC to a 2-1 start on the season!
Cody White (2011, Univ. of Montevallo) CCC's SS recorded his first hit in his first college action against D2 powerhouse Delta State. Cody also recorded his first ever college RBI.

Nick Gonzalez inks with Saint Peters College:
Nick Gonzalez signed his letter of intent to play college baseball at Division 1 Saint Peters College in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Nick has played in the Cape Coast Canes program for the past three summers and will now continue his playing career in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Congratulations Nick and continued success in your baseball future!

2010 WWBA 18U National Championship Results:
Game 1: The Cape Coast Canes defeated the #11 nationally ranked Ohio Warhawks 2 to 1 in the opening round game in Marietta. The Canes were lead by strong pitching performances from Montana Durapau and Scott Garner. Montana pitched five innings giving up one unearned run, two hits, while striking out seven. Scott Garner came in and picked up the save pitching the final two innings of scoreless baseball. The Canes were lead in hitting by Chris Biocic going 2 for 3 with a 2B and a run. Joey Noble held the Warhawks running game in checking throwing out two runners. The victory was the second victory over a top 25 national team in the past two years.
Game 2: The Cape Coast Canes looked to be on the ropes in game 2 against the East Cobb Rays down 8 to 3 in the bottom of the sixth. Instead of quitting the Canes came out swinging and landed a huge haymaker in the seventh to win it. With one out and two on the Canes trailing 8 to 6 Nick Gonzalez changed the course of the tournament with one swing of the bat. Gonzalez hit the first pitch he saw an estimated 380 feet down the left field line for a walk off game winning home run. PJ Biocic and Chris Biocic also contributed offensively both going two for four. The Canes spoiled an excellent pitching performance from Jesse Schullstrom going five strong innings giving up two unearned runs in a dominating pitching performance over a very solid hitting East Cobb Rays team.
Game 3: The Canes came into game three of the tournament 2-0 facing a very strong 2-0 Tampa Panthers team. With the teams tournament future on the line the Canes gave the ball to Scott Garner and watched him pitch his last gem in a Canes uniform. Garner went the full seven innings throwing 91 pitches to take down the talented Panthers in a 8 to 3 victory. Garner struck out 5 and did not give up a hit after the third inning. The Canes were lead in hitting by PJ Biocic and Sammy Song. Biocic went 2 for 3 with a walk and had 3 runs scored. Song had a big 2-out 2RBI base hit to get the Canes started. Kyle Thompson played a tremendous game defensively making a diving catch and throwing out a runner at the plate.
Game 4: The Canes continued its winning ball streak with a 8 to 1 victory over Mass Pride 18U. The Canes had strong pitching performances from Jason Boulais, Eric Steel, and Kevin Gude. The three pitchers dominated the Mass Pride hitters and struck out eight in the victory. Boulais topped out at 91 mph in the game and continued his great pitching this summer. The Canes also got some help from the "Young Bucks" 2012 graduates Shane Gordon and Chris Biocic. Gordon hit his first homerun of the summer with a solo blast over the 360 foot sign in left center, while Biocic continued his hot hitting tournament with another 2 hit performance. Sammy Song and Eric Zarm also got in on the act driving in runs late in the game to put it out of reach.
Game 5: Luck for the Canes the pitchers again showed up and dominated another good LOBA Lynx team from San Antonio, Texas. Kenton Hering and Travis Heer pitched a strong seven innings of baseball and held LOBA to 1 run over seven innings. Hering pitched four innings of scoreless baseball, giving up two hits and striking out four. Travis Heer came in and pitched the final three innings for the save. Heer struck out three and only gave up two hits as well. The Canes struggled with the bats but were lead by Jason Boulais and Dylan Marston. Both Boulais and Marston had RBI extra base hits in the victory.
1st Round of Playoffs: The Canes won their pool going 5-0 outscoring its opponents 27 to 13. The Canes advanced to the single elimination playoff round against an ultra talented Mississippi Bandits team that also won its pool. The Canes sent Montana Durapau on four days rest to the mound for his last pitching performance as a Cane. Durapau continued to do what he has done all summer...DOMINATE. Montana pitched six and two-thirds innings throwing 97 pitches, giving up one earned run and striking out nine. The only problem for the Canes was they forgot their bats at the hotel! The Canes struggled to push runs across collecting only four hits in the game. Shane Gordon, Nick Gonzalez, Chris Biocic, and PJ Biocic were the lone hitters for the Canes. The Canes were beat on a walk off wild pitch that went to the back stop with 2 outs in the bottom of the sixth. The Canes loss spoiled what was a great run in Marietta.
